Come experience the work of a new generation of dance makers in four unique short performances!
Karlijn Hu Chuan Roest, Thea Atladóttir, Venla Keskinen (aka Miila Kaarina), and Zeddrich Starke have taken on the challenge of creating new pieces within just seven weeks. These four distinct makers bring backgrounds in contemporary dance, hip-hop, breakdance, New Way Vogue, and more.
They receive intensive guidance in their own research, the creative process and learn from each other through joint feedback sessions on choreography, dramaturgy, music, creative producing, and communication. Over several weeks, they have immersed themselves in the studios to work on their own research and creative processes. By pushing boundaries, developing concepts further, challenging physicality, and merging styles, they have created fresh, energetic, and unpolished work.
Every year, the new makers of One Night’s Dance are closely guided through coaching sessions provided by Dansateliers and Lloydscompany. This year, dramaturgical guidance is provided by Rodia Vomvolou.
From December 5–8 and December 12–15, they will present their work to the public.
