Connor Schumacher is nominated for the biggest podium prize of the Netherlands, the Gieskes-Strijbis Podiumprijs 2022!
This prize was initiated in 2017 to support free thinking and imagination and is awarded annually to two makers who contribute to the quality and diversity of the performing arts in the Netherlands. On 19 September 2022, the prize will be awarded to two (of five) nominees.
The Advisory Committee of the Gieskes-Strijbis Podiumprijs chose the five diverse nominees because “they are all unique in the way they create an artistic universe. Within this, the nominees are certainly not one-dimensional: multidisciplinary explorations and a connection with social developments are combined with a great sensitivity for reaching new audiences.
“The Gieskes-Strijbis Podiumprijs is needed more than ever in times when it is difficult for posium artists to realise work, make it visible and present it to an audience,” said the chairs of the Advisory Committee.
