What happens when nature becomes a threat? This question forms the theme of The Beauty of Falling Apart by Hilde Elbers and Heather Ware and is closely connected to the daily reality of the visitors of the Pauluskerk.
Heather Ware and Hilde Elbers are intrigued by the moment when the power of nature changes, when our own insignificance is put to the test and the drive for self-survival takes over. Based on this same inspiration, the two makers/dancers created a solo for each other. In the Pauluskerk they share the result: two radically different performances.
About the location: De Pauluskerk in Rotterdam is a place for shelter that offers a home base for people in need. On a daily base the centre opens its doors for their visitors. During the Moving Futures Festival the audience of both the festival and the church meet.
