Looking back: Moving Futures Festival Rotterdam

We’re looking back at a successful fifth edition of the Moving Futures Festival in Rotterdam! We opened the Rotterdam edition with an inspiring professionals meeting and three successful premières with works by Ingrid Berger Myhre & Lasse Passage, Joseph Simon and Ibon Salvador. Next to seeing the performances a nice and divers Cinedans film program of short films was screened and the audience was invited to leave a message on the review wall.

On the second day, Heather Ware and Hilde Elbers performed  The Beauty of Falling Apart in de Pauluskerk. We continued the second day in Theater Rotterdam with two strong solos created and performed by Sigrid Stigsdattir and Lois Alexander. A women solo’s evening all in all.  On the first and second day, spoken word artist Chery (Spraakuhloos) gave words to the performances she saw in a powerful presentation. Dramaturge Merel Heering led two inspiring aftertalks in which she opened the conversation about the performance with the audience and the choreographer in a refreshing way.

Also on the third day a varied program was presented. Five out of the in total six performances were sold out, which made us very happy! We’re looking back at a beautiful edition with very divers works, which we wouldn’t have been able to make possible without the help of our fantastic volunteers, our partners Theater Rotterdam and de Pauluskerk and not to forget the dance artists! Enjoy the festival one more time with the photos made by Rob Hogeslag.
