Kick off 25 years Dansateliers

It is time to celebrate Dansateliers’ 25th anniversary! On October 9 and 10, in Theater Rotterdam, we present a selection of eye-cathing performances, developed under our umbrella including the premìere of the new solo I trust in this life: the hand of God by choreographer Connor Schumacher.

In the small hall of Theater Rotterdam, location Schouwburg on October 9th, you can come and watch Flatland by choreographer Mor Shani that was selected in 2011 for the Aerowaves Twenty11. In the piece an actor and three dancers portray the story of a neurologist who, unexpectedly becomes her own research subject. A heated performance that results in a deep barrel full of loneliness and an oppressive encounter in which every hug can suddenly become a stranglehold. Flatland is presented next to the première of I trust in this life; the hand of God by Connor Schumacher. This new solo will tour the theatres in the spring of 2019, along with the program THREESOME.

On October 10th, Roser López Espinosa presents the audience a playful collaboration between three virtuoso dancers. By giving space to the personal and the common, a sense of belonging and imagination emerges. NOVEMBER gives a voice to the animal in the body; to joining forces and playfully being together. A powerful and, at the same time, delicate physical proposal for a shared landscape.

“For one hour you dive, wobble and wave along with those three amazing dancers who explore their movement possibilities playfully. They weave together and intertwine their own and each other’s body and form the most ingenious constructions.” De Volkskrant

Next to NOVEMBER we present Le Faune (2018), an enchanting dance-film about voyeurism, intimacy and sexuality based on the ballet L’après-midi d’un Faune (1912) by Vaslav Nijinski.
