Before we enter into a little summerbreak, it is time for two special studiopresentations. On June 15th and 16th, we invite you for the sharing of ENGEL by Kim-Jomi Fischer & Marta Alstadsæter and a duet-in-progress by Joseph Simon. Codarts alumni Kim-Jomi Fischer and Marta Alstadsæter are heading towards the premiere of ENGEL on June 30th, in Podium Bloos Breda, next to the Norwegian premiere on June 27th. With the concept of ENGEL, the duo won the BNG Bank dance prize 2018 in January. The jury of the prize wrote the following:
“Is it circus or is it dance? Kim & Marta parry that question with a soft, flowing and sculptural game with power, balance and relationship. […] Together they reveal new layers of meaning in the motor skills of the other. “
Choreographer Joseph Simon joins the program with a funky duet-in-progress for dancers Madelyn Bullard and Viviana Fabiano. Just like previous works by Joseph, he links elements from classical ballet with movement styles such as house, hip hop and dancehall. During the studiopresentations Joseph shows the first results and invites the audience to enter into a dialogue about the work.
