Meet your fellow movers during the online movement class with Joseph Simon. In a 60-minute class we will move together alone from home! The class will be hosted via Zoom.
As a ‘third-culture kid’, Joseph has experience and knowledge about navigating between the cultures of contemporary dances, breaking, hiphop and house. From this experience, he will guide you through different approaches to dance improvisation. Within the chaos of improvisation, this will help you build a thread of attention throughout your movement and a sense of coherence and (dis)continuity to your choices. We will journey from sensorial and feeling based movement to the use of concepts and restrictions, as well as rhythm.
For whom? Everyone who loves to dance and move from home. No experience required!
Where? Your house
When? 20:30-21:30h. You can enter the Zoom-meeting from 20:15h.
Price: We offer this class for free, but to support us in these bizarre times, you can also consider to donate a small amount. An indication: a regular movement class costs 5 euros. You can of course adjust your donation to what you can afford. You can transfer an amount via a Tikkie or directly to ING NL49 INGB 0000199637 in the name of Stichting Dansateliers. Many thanks!
How can I join? Please send an email to movementclass@dansateliers.nl to sign up for the class. You will then receive the Zoom-link and password with which you can enter the class. There’s a limited amount of places available, first come, first serve.
Before the class starts, please make sure:
- You’re having enough space to move
- Have some water on the side, so you can stay hydrated
- Wear comfortable clothes that allow you to move freely
- Turn your microphone off
