Connor Schumacher is interested in everything that dance was, everything that dance is and everything dance can become. Because somewhere in there is the key to a revolutionary thought. So let’s get moving.
Connor Schumacher first started dancing at Purchase College Conservatory of Dance in New York where he studied composition and performance. He has been developing his work since 2012 at Dansateliers, where he created a.o. The Fool (2015), Asset, Liability and Equity(2016),Exhibition(2017), OK Future(2017) and THREESOME(2019).
He took part in the European research projects Dancing Museums(2015-2017) and Empowering Dance (2018-present). Dancing Museums had the purpose to explore new ways of engaging audiences. Empowering Danceis about how dance can contribute to the development of ‘soft skills’.
He was nominated for the Prijs van de Nederlandse Dansdagen in 2017 and 2019. He is moving forward as an independent dance artist in November 2019.
