The Woman Destroyed

Fri 18 Feb | 19:30

THE WOMAN DESTROYED is an interdisciplinary live research performance that explores themes surrounding ‘the dangers of uninhibited power’. A series of ‘exercises’ emerge that involve dance, theatre, visual projections, sound programming, and natural language processing. Various technologies define aspects of the performance in real time; the structure and content is therefore not quite the same each time it is presented. Questions around autonomy and elusive systems of control arise when the human on stage complies with the demands of a non-emotional entity. THE WOMAN DESTROYED stages unforeseen events in an attempt to enhance the transient experience of live art. Yet, this dynamic also shines light on hazards that precariousness can cause.
