premiere RIDE OR DIE

Thu 6 May | 20:30

RIDE OR DIE is a raw, physical experience about love, loyalty, and what we carry with us, created by Choreographer Sheree Lenting.

No distance. You’re inside it.

WE RIDE OR WE DIE

We call it love.
We call it loyalty.

But what if we’re really talking about survival?

RIDE OR DIE is an interdisciplinary dance performance by Sheree Lenting, the first City Choreographer of both Rotterdam and the Netherlands. An artist whose work has been awarded the BNG Bank Dance Award, received ★★★★ reviews, and is known for creating performances that refuse to look away from the truth.

In this performance, she dives beneath the surface of love and relationships. Because what we feel doesn’t come from nowhere. It is shaped by history, by what generations before us have carried, and by patterns that continue to shape how we love, trust, and protect ourselves. Three performers move between hip-hop, African and Caribbean diasporic movement, and contemporary dance. Their bodies carry this history while searching for a way through it. Toward something new. Film, spoken word, and music draw you deeper into a world where different layers of time collide, and where love is not a romantic ideal, but a choice that comes with friction.

RIDE OR DIE doesn’t ask whether you believe in love.

It asks: what are you willing to break in order to truly choose it?
