On February 13, Dansateliers Supported Artist Shaquille George’s new performance Phantom Harmony premieres at Theatre Rotterdam.
“I feel like society often avoids conversations that make us uncomfortable or uneasy. Sometimes, we don’t even acknowledge them or fully dismiss how important they are.
Phantom Harmony is the tale of my journey, where I struggled with my mental health and realized how vital it is to use my artistic voice to share this story. I hope to spark a dialogue or even open a small window for people to reflect on themselves and those around them who might be struggling with mental health.”
– Shaquille George
During their participation in One Night’s Dance 2023, Shaquille George created the solo Phoenix. Dansateliers later invited Shaquille to further develop this solo into a short performance: Phantom Harmony.
Phantom Harmony is part of The Kitchen program at Theater Rotterdam.
Following the performance, there will be a conversation with Shaquille and a specialist, focusing on opening up discussions about mental health.
