The pleasure of stepping off a horse when it’s moving at full speed. Welcome to this celebration of the unfiltered self, in which Courtney May Robertson searches for radical acceptance. A rider taming a wild horse: this metaphor for self-control fascinates Courtney. In that image, she sees a struggle between embracing primitive desires and regulating behaviour in accordance with social pressure to conform. In this performance, she makes an attempt to embrace the contradictions that make up a human being with many faces. Photo: Anna van Kooij
