On Saturday June 29th 2019 the prizes for the Rotterdam International Duet Competition were awarded. As a partner of the event Dansateliers offers a research residency to Angela Rabaglio (CH) en Micaël Florentz (FR), based on their duet The Gyre.
Director Kristin de Groot: ‘I sat far up, but I was drawn into the work. Through eloquent choice making and the nuanced use of time and timing, the choreographers slowly but surely embrace the viewer into the work. They establish a machinery, a cadence, a perpetuum that could go on forever. By diving into a simple starting concept and thorough and thoughtful research, these two artists have created a refined and mesmerizing experience for the audience.’
