The Dansateliers’ morning classes for professionals will stop as of June 24th 2019
The decision to stop programming the morning classes has several reasons. Times have changed; many dance professionals we work with, choose to incorporate the warming up of the dancers into their working process, in order to already tune them into the physicality of the work. Next to that, in order to sustain the morning classes, we need a critical mass of bodies in the room. At the moment, we share the building with Conny Janssen Danst, who provides us with her company dancers with this critical mass. As they will be moving to the other side of the river, to the Feniksloods, the distance between the two locations will be too big to have the dancers train here first and then move to rehearsal in their new company building. This is why Conny Janssen Danst has decided to organize the warm up for their dancers themselves, which makes us loose the critical mass needed to sustain the classes and financially justify them.
It hurts somewhat, but this has led to the decision to stop programming the morning classes for professionals as of June 24th 2019. We will keep on programming contemporary dance workshops and our weekly Wednesday movementclasses will continue as usual. All lesson cards are valid until June 21st 2019.
