At Dansateliers, we offer a yearly residency to a dramaturg. We provide them with the space to further develop within our organization, explore new ideas, and engage in dialogue with our makers.
For 2026, we are delighted to welcome Mona De Weerdt (Zurich) as our new dramaturg-in-residence. Mona is a theatre and dance scholar as well as a dramaturg, and since 2021 she has been the artistic director of TanzPlan Ost. In addition, she works as a freelance dramaturg with various artists and companies. Her research focuses on topics such as class, ecology, exhaustion, identity, and neurodiversity.
During her residency, Mona will primarily focus on her project “doing dramaturgy”, a dance dramaturgy platform she initiated in 2024. In collaboration with Valerie Wehrens (Cologne), the platform aims to bring together dramaturgical knowledge, questions, and practices, making the field visible both as a method and as a profession.
