Loïc Perela (FR, 1983) studied at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Danse in Marseille and the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Danse in Paris. He danced for Europa Danse, IT Dansa, Donlon Dance Company and Scapino Ballet, where he created various works. Since 2012, Perela has been working as a freelance choreographer in Rotterdam. The relationship with Dansateliers was established in 2012 when he was selected by the house for Choreoroam. Under the umbrella of Dansateliers Loïc created Au creux de l’oreille (2012), FEAR (2013), DANCE (2013) as part of DANSLOKAAL 1 (Conny Janssen Danst), the location project SPACE (2014) and SENSES (2015). With his concept for HASHTAG he won the prize of the Dutch Dance Days 2015. In 2016 he will create a site specific version of HASHTAG for ZigZagCity festival and a theatre version that will première during the Dutch Dance Days 2016. In 2017 and 2018 he created VOICE: offering as part of Krisztina’s Keuze 2 (co-production Chatel sur place). It was the first creation of a series in which the voice is starting point. During an 8-month residency in K3 Tanzplan, Hamburg, Germany he creates the second part: VOICE.
Since 2017 Loïc works as an independent choreographer, producing his own work under the umbrella of Colab. loïc perela.
