Movement Class Monday sept 7 | Marta Wörner

Mon 7 Sep | 20:00

Every Monday evening, you can engage with the emerging choreographers connected to Dansateliers. By the use of physical exercises and tasks, they will take you on an exploration of improvisation, performance, and body awareness. Professional dancer, amateur or never seen a dance floor before? No problem, the lesson is open to everyone.

The teacher this week is Marta Wörner.

During this class, we will engage with the somatic tools Marta is developing for her current creative project. Together, we will investigate the embodiment and dismantling of archival imagery, discovering how simple actions, like subtly embracing gravity, can serve as both physical and dramaturgical tools.

Marta’s research focuses on archival images from the fascist era, examining how physical posture and gymnastics were historically used to condition bodies for violence. She carries the question: How can choreography help disarm these intergenerational traces within our bodies, and what kinds of scores can activate softer physical states, primed for connection rather than conflict?’
