Every Monday evening you can engage with the emerging choreographers connected to Dansateliers. By the use of physical exercises and tasks they will take you along an exploration in improvisation, performance and body-awareness. Professional dancer, amateur or never seen a dancefloor before? No problem, the lesson is open for everyone.
This week’s Movement Class guest teacher is Yoko Haveman.
Yoko Haveman is a multidisciplinary creator: director, choreographer, dance artist, and photographer in performing arts and film. She earned her bachelors-degree in Modern Theater Dance at the Amsterdam School of the Arts. In 2022, she was nominated for the Young Swan for the most impressive dance performance.
Yoko has realized various productions, including Solastalgia, Paradise Lost, and Conundrum. She also works as a dramaturg and movement advisor for artists such as Courtney May Robertson and Noa Zevenbergen. As a dance artist, she has performed with Conny Janssen Danst, Jasper van Luijk, De Dansers, and Guy Nadar & Maria Campos.
