11 November 2024 | Yoko Haveman

Mon 11 Nov | 20:00

Every Monday evening you can engage with the emerging choreographers connected to Dansateliers. By the use of physical exercises and tasks they will take you along an exploration in improvisation, performance and body-awareness. Professional dancer, amateur or never seen a dancefloor before? No problem, the lesson is open for everyone.

This week’s Movement Class guest teacher is Yoko Haveman.
Yoko is a Dutch multidisciplinary maker: director, choreographer, dance artist, and photographer in the performing arts and film. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Modern Theatre Dance from the Amsterdam University of the Arts. In 2022, she was nominated for the Jonge Zwaan for the most impressive dance performance.

Yoko’s work is characterised by her fascination with human behaviour, cinematography, and philosophy, which she expresses both physically and theatrically. Her creations range from vulnerable to invincible, and from minimal to maximal, often under the umbrella of balance.
