Yoko Haveman (1994, Brazilian/Japanese) is a Dutch multidisciplinary maker: director, choreographer, dance artist, and photographer in the performing arts and film. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Modern Theatre Dance from the Amsterdam University of the Arts. In 2022, she was nominated for the Jonge Zwaan for the most impressive dance performance.
Yoko’s work is characterised by her fascination with human behaviour, cinematography, and philosophy, which she expresses both physically and theatrically. Her creations range from vulnerable to invincible, and from minimal to maximal, often under the umbrella of balance.
