Studio Presentation – Yoko Haveman

Fri 28 Nov | 19:30

In this first public sharing of a tribute to everything that breaks, interdisciplinary artist Yoko Haveman opens the doors to have a first glimpse of her creation process after two weeks in the studio. This research dives into the fractured female archetype of anime, where violence, eroticism, and agency collide.

Through a raw physical language inspired by martial arts and 90’s neo-noir anime, Yoko will make use of dance, strong visual poetry, and a projection of a 2D miniature avatar.

This presentation examines the first intimate moments of the work-in-progress of breakage, identity glitches, and the body as weapon and vessel.

Join us for a one-night insight into what breaks, reforms, and refuses to be contained.
