DANSLOKAAL is the annual talent development project of Conny Janssen Danst, in which talented makers are invited to create new work together with the dancers of the Rotterdam-based company.
Artistic director Conny Janssen, in collaboration with Dansateliers and Korzo, selects a diverse group of emerging talent for each edition. For DANSLOKAAL 13, the selected choreographers are:

These young makers are given the opportunity to develop their own artistic signature within the professional context of the company. The result is an exciting performance featuring three new works, created for and with the dancers of Conny Janssen Danst.
DANSLOKAAL coaches on the choreographers of DANSLOKAAL 13:
Faizah Grootens brings a unique and powerful perspective to the stage. Inspired by her Curaçaoan and Caribbean roots, she weaves various dance styles into a distinctive signature full of rhythm, intensity, and expressiveness. She creates choreographies that move, provoke, and captivate. Her work combines contemporary dance, relevance, and temperament, turning every performance into an immersive and intense experience. Sheree is a storyteller pur sang. She powerfully captures personal narratives and gives people a voice. With a strong vision, she sheds light on histories that are often overlooked, seamlessly connecting past, present, and future. With his infectious work, Andrea has developed a highly individual style in which humor and communication play a central role. Not only communication between the dancers, but also dialogue with the audience is essential in his creations. After two performances in the intimate setting of HUIS Conny Janssen Danst in Rotterdam, DANSLOKAAL 13 will have its national premiere on Saturday, October 4, 2025, during the Nederlandse Dansdagen festival. The production will then tour theaters across the Netherlands until November 15. This way, the loyal audience of Conny Janssen Danst is introduced to the work of these promising young choreographers, who in turn can share their creations on a national stage.
Dansateliers and Korzo are the creative partners for DANSLOKAAL 13.
