Anna Raiola

Anna Raiola is an Italian–Mexican contemporary dancer, born in the United States and shaped by an upbringing across different cultures. Her multicultural experience sparked her interest in themes of belonging and identity. At 18 years old, she moved to Rotterdam to study at Codarts University of the Arts, where she graduated in 2021. Since then she has worked as a freelancer for various choreographers and is now developing her own artistic voice.

Her movement research draws from everyday gestures and explores the interplay between softness and strength. Anna’s work is guided by theatricality, using presence and character to guide both her performance and creative process.

From February 5–8 and 12–15, Anna will present her new work alongside other emerging makers to the public during One Night’s Dance.
