Loïc Perela has been working as a choreographer and teacher for many years. Before starting to teach, he worked as a dancer for companies that mainly derive their movement source from a deconstructed form of classical ballet. During those years, his main focus was to perform and to learn from all the processes he was invited to be part of, in order to discover his body and mind, while starting to choreograph. His class is a very breathy approach to Classical Ballet. It follows the classical set up with a barre and a center, and is constructed as an interdependent web of exercises that aim at empowering the dancers to understand their body and coordination. By listening and understanding their own mechanisms within this class, dancers can emancipate themselves and figure out other ways of moving.
