Every first Sunday of the month you can join an extended version of the Movement Class in Dansateliers. The class is an in-depth introduction to the movement material and working methods of the choreographers. By the use of physical exercises and tasks they will take you along an exploration in improvisation, performance and body-awareness. Professional dancer, amateur or never seen a dancefloor before? No problem, the lesson is open for everyone.

What do we see when we look at dance? If dance is a type of language, what can it say? In this Movement Class XL we will move through a series of scores related to two things: dancing and seeing. We will do this either all together or in smaller groups and will alternate between moving, writing and dancing. We will also find time to reflect together : Can a dance be anything ? And what conditions the way we ‘read’ dance?
What can you expect?
You can expect a playful, open atmosphere in which the activities we do resemble games more than exercises. You will get lots of agency and the chance to let your creativity run free. In this way, you’ll gain insight how one can move freely through open scores.
