Spelling Spectacle by Ingrid Berger Myhre opens SPRING
From Thursday 18 to Saturday 27 May 2023, the eleventh edition of SPRING Performing Arts Festival will take place in theatres, special locations and public spaces in Utrecht. At the festival, you will see over 25 adventurous and urgent performances by makers both near and far, who dare to ask questions about the state of the world.
Ingrid Berger Myhre kicks off the festival with the world premiere of Spelling Spectacle.
Spelling Spectacle is a performance about logic, consequence and possibility. The title is an alliteration in which the words have a double allusion. They both evoke a sense of magic beyond the literary meaning of reading or seeing: spell as in decoding, or a spell as in a magical formula. A spectacle as something to be seen, and glasses as something to be seen through.
