Ian Yves Ancheta (1993, Philippines) is a Swedisch dance maker and performer. This year he takes part in One Night’s Dance, the annual talent trajectory of Dansateliers.
What are you looking forward to the most?
‘After years of studies, training and experiences, I am looking forward to show what I ́ve learned and beyond. In that process, I hope to make new encounters.’
What do you hope to gain in the process?
‘I hope to gain more experience in dance, more self-confidence as a performer/maker and more knowledge about how everything works in the professional arena.’
What are your dreams for the future?
‘My ultimate dream is to find balance between ‘pleasing’ the audience and staying true to my art. And of course, to make a name for myself.’
What is typically you?
‘I stay calm under pressure. I am very optimistic (sometimes as a disadvantage). I sleep to recharge.’
