Ingrid Berger Myhre – Associate artist

Ingrid Berger Myhre (1987) studied at the Laban Centre in London and graduated from Amsterdamse Hogeschool voor de Kunsten in 2010. In 2015 she finished her MA in choreography at EX.E.R.CE in CCN, Montpellier. Since 2013 she works with the support of Dansateliers. Language and semiotics are central elements to Ingrid’s artistic work. She is motivated by questions around how we read and understand dance, especially in the context of the theatre. Her relativizing take on “dance” as we know it comes together in unpretentious and humorous performances. Her solo BLANKS (2017) and the duet PANFLUTES AND PAPERWORK (2019), a collaboration with Lasse Passage, introduced her work internationally. Both works were selected for Aerowaves, and has toured a number of venues in Europe and in Norway. In her production IN OTHER WORDS (2021), she continues her play with the capacities and shortcomings of language – using it as a scaffold for dance as poetic expression.

In the frame of  the international project Dancing Museums II, Ingrid developed A CLOSER LOOK, a choreographic intervention specifically created in the context of museumspaces. Ingrid’s work is also supported by Advancing Performing Arts Project (apap) – FEMINIST FUTURES – a project co-founded by the Creative Europe Program of the European Union and Caravan Production (BE).

Financed through the Performance Arts Funds, in the period of 2021-2024 Ingrid is one of the associated artists of Dansateliers.
