Ian Yves Ancheta

Ian Yves Ancheta (Sweden 1993) had his first encounter with dance through New School Hip hop which led to his great interest in musicality and fragmented movement qualities. He graduated from ArtEZ University of the arts in 2019 and worked as a dancer with companies such as Nagelhus Schia Productions, Conny Janssen Danst, and Panta Rei Danseteater.

As a maker, Ian creates from a place of humor and playfulness. Using objects as a source of inspiration to find movements in unexpected and twisted ways. The struggle of being is an important element in his works, striving not only to reveal more about himself but also the audience.

Ian has been collaborating with Dansateliers since 2019, during which he created the duet “once, two times” for one night’s dance (2019), his short solo “titta på mina tuttar” (2020), and “caught in between” (2021) as part of Danslokaal 9 with Conny Janssen Danst and “an unconventional striptease” (2022).
