Andreas Hannes

Andreas Hannes (1987) grew up in a musical surrounding. After completing his studies in classical percussion at the University of Macedonia in Thessaloniki, Greece, he moved to the Netherlands. Here he actively engaged with one of his long time passions, which is film making. He worked as an independent producer and director for short films and held the artistic direction of Small House Productions.

In 2014, after various training courses on physical theater and dance, he entered SNDO – School for New Dance Development, from which he graduated in 2018. Andreas’ graduation performance The City showcased the practice of continuous skipping and received the Moving Forward Trajectory Award 2018. In 2019 his performance Tremble premiered. Since 2011, he is affiliated with Cinedans Dance on Screen Festival in Amsterdam and currently works as the Artistic Programmer and Producer of the festival.

In 2020 Andreas created a work with and for the dancers of Conny Janssen Danst as part of DANSLOKAAL 8
with the title Warping Soul. This performance was selected at the end of 2021 as part of the #Twenty22 selection of the European platform Aerowaves. This platform receives more than 600 applications annually and will show the 20 selected makers in the spring of 2022, during the Spring Forward Festival. Aerowaves is an important springboard for a new generation of dance artists.
