Every Monday evening you can engage with the emerging choreographers connected to Dansateliers. By the use of physical exercises and tasks they will take you along an exploration in improvisation, performance and body-awareness. Professional dancer, amateur or never seen a dancefloor before? No problem, the lesson is open for everyone.
This Movement Class will be given by Majon van der Schot.
Majon van der Schot is an Amsterdam-based ‘performance dancer/artist. Her strong affinity towards self-expression through movement led her to study at Dance Theatre Academy in Tilburg. After graduating in 2012, her practice has been about ‘being human’ or transmuting the rigid structures that society, institutions and people impose upon us through dance. Through moving alone/together/alone, we are developing all the social and physical skills that we need to embrace the complexity of life. It is only through the act of moving we are able to understand ourselves and world around us. For her, dance is the space of awakening.
