One Night’s Dance is Dansateliers’ annual start-up project for beginning dancemakers. Every year five talented choreographers are challenged to create a new piece within a limited timeframe. The makers explore boundaries, develop concepts, challenge bodies and fuse forms which results in daring and unpolished new work.
In 2018 their will be a special edition of One Night’s Dance, fitted in the framework of the 25 years Dansateliers jubilee program. Next to new pieces Dansateliers brings back two golden oldies developed during previous One Night’s Dance editions. Choreographer Erik Kaiel presents his duet No Man is an Island and Connor Schumacher is back with his personal solo solo Boy oh Boy I. The young makers that will create a new performance are Ellis van Veldhuizen and Maria Sartzetaki. More information about the complete program follows.
