In her new solo Singular, Johanna Tengan is searching for the connection between poetry and dance, inspired by the Belgium poet/writer Herman de Conink. In the creation she wishes to embody his words and to physically and viscerally translate a direct experience to the viewer. De Coninck’s words are simple yet complex, playfully put together, and sometimes totally paradoxical. “Singular” seeks to create a poetic world where the imagined and the real speak a common language.
This performance is created as part of an exchange program between Dansateliers, Rotterdam and Azkuna Zentroa, Bilbao (SP).
