Erik Kaiel’s Movement Class XL

On Sunday December 2nd the Movement Class XL is taught by choreographer Erik Kaiel. During the 3-hour workshops Orbiting the body, you will explore an inverted way of moving, using the upper body to drive you through space, and the lower body to ornament and nuance your movement. Using simple partnering, improvisational structures, and refined flow, the workshop will introduce the way of working that Erik & Arch 8 use to create performances.

Choreographer Erik Kaiel / Arch 8 is known for his playful approach and works that speak to the imagination of a wide audience. His performances are performed worldwide in metrostations, public gardens, empty pools, in streets and now and then a theatre. In 2006 he developed the piece No Man is an Island during Dansateliers’ annual makers trajectory One Night’s Dance. In the framework of Dansateliers 25th anniversary he now brings back the piece as one of the specials of One Night’s Dance 2018 on December 6-9. During the Movement Class XL on December 2nd you can engage with the maker for a physical exploration of his work.

Open to everyone interested in movement. No experience required.
