Ian Yves Ancheta

Ian Yves Ancheta (1993, Sweden) is a maker and performer. His first encounter with dance was with New School Hip hop and this led to his great interest in detailed minimalism and movement musicality. Ian graduated 2019 from ArtEZ Institute of the Arts, Arnhem with a Bachelor of Dance degree. During his education he was introduced to various performance elements such as physical theatricality, humor and composition. These elements are central to his artistic exploration.

During the season of 2019/2020, Ian was seen in the works of Conny Janssen, Ingrid Berger Myhre, and Davide Bellotta. He also created his own works Once, Two times as part of One Night’s Dance at Dansateliers, and On Steady Ground as part of Dans in Ontwikkeling Schiedam by Liat Magnezy. As a maker, Ian often uses objects as an inspiration to find movement in unexpected and twisted ways.
