“I like motivating people to stay curious and to keep exploring the possibilities of the physical”
Min Li was trained with traditional Chinese dance and worked with the National ballet of China, and the Batsheva Ensemble before he came to The Netherlands to dance and choreograph with Scapino Ballet Rotterdam. After all these experiences, Min now shares his knowledge and understanding of dance with people. Finding the connection between the body and mind is essential for his class. In either ballet or contemporary class, he would like to motivate the participants to stay curious and keep discovering the possibilities of the physicality and the sensation. He encourages dancers to develop a personal interpretation of the movement without judgement, but with an open mind to try and feel. For him, joy and a passion to move are very important, as to him dance should be fun, not a mechanic routine of daily practice.
