Jorijn Vriesendorp

Jorijn Vriesendorp (Amsterdam, the Netherlands) is a freelance dancer and since 2014 a qualified counter-technique teacher.

From 2004 till 2008 Jorijn studied at the Theaterschool Amsterdam, with a major in Jazz-Musical Theatre. In 2008 Jorijn moved to Melbourne, Australia. In 2009 she graduated and received her BA dance from the Victorian College of the Arts/University of Melbourne and was the recipient of the Most Outstanding Dancer Award in her final year.

After her graduation Jorijn has been employed with Gideon Obarzanek’s Melbourne based dance company Chunky Move. From 2009 till 2012 she has been touring and performing internationally in the productions of ‘Mortal Engine’ and ‘Mixtape’.

In 2011 Jorijn moved back to the Netherlands and joined Anouk van Dijk’s company Anoukvandijk dc. As part of the company she has been involved in the productions of ‘Mensch’ and ‘Rausch’.

After Anouk van Dijk’s departure to Australia, Jorijn continued her career with theater director Falk Richter in Germany. Here she has been performing at Schaubuhne Berlin and Schauspiel Frankfurt in the productions ‘For The Disconnected Child’ and ‘Zwei Uhr Nachts’

Jorijn regularly performs in the work of other artists, recently including Cecilia Moisio - L.O.V.E. and She/Her, Tino Sehgal - Selling Out, Eilit Marom - State of Statement; Tinge.

Besides dance Jorijn is also involved in short and feature (dance) films and has worked with film directors including Sonja Wyss - She/Her (2016), Helgi Johnnsson - Landbrot (2016) Lucas van Woerkum - The Firebird (2015), Rachel Lang - Baden Baden (2016), Rob Lucker and Michiel van Jaarsveld.
